Looking for something unique? This is it. 1942 WWII Handley Page Hampden British Spotter plane mounted on an aircraft pistion head to form a most wonderful trench art ashtray. The plane is plastic; underneath it is marked Handley Page Hampden 8-42 as well as "BRITISH". This was a spotter plane used to train our forces with regards to what allied aircraft looked like. It has been mounted via a bracket onto the piston head. The plane has been painted and note that there is a large chip out of one of the tail fins as well as on the horizontal piece connecting them. A little tag that the former shop had with this claims it was made in Peterson Field Colorado. The pistion head is numbered underneath..For reference, the piston outer diameter is 6 1/8 inches. Very neat old piece. $60 cash.
