We had both of these at our last house and this proved to be the solution. This chimney cap can easy solve wind related downdraft problems by creating low air pressure at the chimney opening compared to air pressure inside the chimney where the air flow is relatively slower. It will force air inside the chimney to move towards the opening, creating updraft.
Well engineered and made of stainless steel, plus it keeps moisture away from your chimney opening.
The clay liner inside my chimney was 6.875” square and this simply bolted inside.
The square connecting sections is 6.5” x 6.5”, so there is some wiggle room when it comes to what size chimney openings this will fit.
