above ground pool aka Shangri-La - $1,000 (Niantic)

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Gibraltar
model name / number: don't know
size / dimensions: 16 x 24 x 4
Gibraltar Pool was purchased in Sept 2008, body was assembled in October, liner and pump etc finished in June, 2009. . Dimensions are 16 x 24 x 4. Holds about 10,000 gallons. Pump is original. Thought about replacing it, but the pool place said Hayward pumps last forever. Did replace the two reusable filters 2 years ago. Sturdy stairs are lifted out in winter and replaced in spring. A 16 ft roller to hold the thermal cover is available in the garage. It's been used well but the pool has been warm enough without the cover, so we have skipped use of a cover in recent years.

Pool has been used and loved for 15 summers. First liner failed, but was under warranty. Second liner lived a good life and was replaced 3 years ago. It's in excellent condition. In the fall the pool is closed properly and protected by its winter cover. Opening procedure takes place around Memorial Day and pool is ready for all the fun you can bring it.
I do a body count each year. If anyone comes and puts in a little toe in the water, it counts as a body. One year I had a count of over 350. Truthfully, 90 of those were just me. Last year the count was just 100. Times are changing. The pool is durable and fun if it's used. It is not open yet... my opener is away. It's time for Ms. Gibraltar to delight some other family.

Gibraltar pools are designed for New England winters. The salesman said that the pool itself will last 50 years. My other half laughed that might now be true for us. Sadly, I lost my mate some years ago.

The pool itself will need to be dismantled and reconstructed at your place. Since it's already into June and it is not opened, I decided it's time for someone else to own this gem.

Someone will be very happy with this pool. Meanwhile, I'll try to fill up the open field that will be open after Ms Gibraltar is carted away. You could have this gem up and running long before the 4th of July.

Peggy

PS I have some excellent pictures to show but cannot figure out how to attach them. Text me and I'll text them back to you until I can figure out how to do this.

My opener has returned. The pool is open and the winter water is returning to normal. I'm taking this off the market for now, but may again post it in September.
